Community Involvement: Tim Hortons Smile Cookies
Food4Kids Halton was the lucky recipient of the smile cookie proceeds from all Oakville area Tim Hortons locations. Michael had the pleasure of helping to decorate some of the smile cookies during this awesome campaign.
Step Up to the Plate 5
On Aug 27 the Dads of Milton (DoMs) hosted the “Step Up to the Plate 5” event in support of Nelson the Giant and their #Thumpoutbullying campaign. Michael was busy shagging fly balls in the outfield like a kid again at the annual Home Run Derby event.
Over $14,000 was raised for this amazing cause.

I am very pleased to write this letter in recommendation of an incredible studio, The Dance Shoppe. Located in Milton, Ontario, The Dance Shoppe offers many different programs, classes, and workshops for both adults and children, as well as camps and birthday parties.
The Dance Shoppe was first opened in 1994 in a small 700 square foot, one room dance studio. Today, it has grown to a 1,200 square foot space where everyone is welcome to learn to dance and express themselves through a variety of recreational and competitive programs and classes. This includes Acro, Ballet, RAD Ballet, Contemporary, Creative, Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Tap, most from three years and up.
Owner and Director, Ruth-Ann Gray, started dancing at a local dance studio in Milton at the age of 10. Her love of dance only grew stronger as she got older, and she knew she was meant to share her love of dance with as many people as she could. Along with her family, Ruth-Ann then founded The Dance Shoppe and now has a wonderful staff who are passionate about dance and has helped to make the studio become known as “Milton’s family dance studio.”
I highly recommend visiting The Dance Shoppe if you have a child who is interested in dance or are an adult looking to reignite your passion. The entire team is friendly, helpful and inclusive and will be happy to help you discover how much dance can enrich your life.

I am happy to write this letter in recommendation of an exciting children’s creative studio called Tinkerlab. Located in the heart of Milton, Ontario, Tinkerlab is a place for creativity, learning and exploration for children ages 0-10.
Tinkerlab is based on STEAM programming, which stand for science, technology, engineering, art and math. STEAM focuses on developing fine motor skills, cognitive development, communication skills, decision-making, inventiveness, and visual learning through workshops, weekly classes, camps, and even birthday parties that utilize paint, tools, and other mixed media. Some of the take home art pieces have included slime, flow paintings, scribble bots, bath bombs, clay donuts, and much more.
Founder Berri Hoch is an Early Childhood Educator, Ontario Certified Teacher, and mother. She has seen the impact STEAM programming has had on young ones which is why building Tinkerlab has been a dream of hers for many years. She believes in giving families the opportunity to let children use their imagination and encourages parents to let their children be artists, scientists and inventors. The entire team at Tinkerlab believes the process of thinking and doing is just as important as completing the final product.
