Schooley Mitchell’s Lori McDowell and other volunteers with Bread of Life helping feed the homeless in Downtown Houston. Bread of Life is an amazing organization that does so much good for the city of Houston and surrounding areas!

Charity 5K
Schooley Mitchell consultant Lori McDowell recently ran a 5K, Walk by Faith, for an organizations called Addi’sFaith Foundation that supports Childhood Cancer. She is also supporting them with donation of Astros tickets for a Silent Auction at a later event.

Step Up to the Plate 5

On Aug 27 the Dads of Milton (DoMs) hosted the “Step Up to the Plate 5” event in support of Nelson the Giant and their #Thumpoutbullying campaign. Michael was busy shagging fly balls in the outfield like a kid again at the annual Home Run Derby event.
Over $14,000 was raised for this amazing cause.

Duluth Fall Festival
Marline Thomas, Erick Santiago, and Germaine Santiago recently volunteered at the 39th annual Duluth Fall Festival, a true community event run by over 300 volunteers. It is one of the most successful festivals in the southeast, with attendance consistently upwards of 100,000.

Volunteering to feed Ukraine with Numana Inc.

Numana is a non-profit organization located in El Dorado, KS. On August 27, 8 volunteer teams, Schooley Mitchell’s Rod Holter among them, worked to package and box meals for Ukrainians in need. In just 2 hours, over 100 cases were assembled which will feed 21,600 people. Numana will organize a packaging event for any business or charity across the United States. Build a Bed 2022
Lee Balaklaw’s BNI Commonwealth Chapter participates in Build a Bed activities each year, for needy children. His BNI chapter alone typically builds 10 beds per year but the entire area group builds upward of 150 beds for local children in need.

Walk for Apraxia
Axel Nafthal and his wife Maureen took part in a “Walk for Apraxia” fundraiser on August 29th with their two daughters Alana and Errinn, and grandsons Lochlin and Arlo. Beautiful day and lots of fun for a worthy cause!

Volunteer Pilot
Schooley Mitchell consultant Sanjay Tyagi is a volunteer pilot with Colorado Wing-Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary). He recently flew from Centennial to Walsenburg and Durango in Colorado to deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical professionals during the Covid-19 crisis.
